IU Graduate students may apply via 2023-2024 Grants-in-Aid of Jewish Studies Research (Deadline: February 18, 2023).  To be considered for an Erna B. Rosenfeld Scholarship, a graduate student must be pursuing research/study of antisemitism during the 2023-2024 year. Preference will be given to Jewish Studies Ph.D. minor and master’s degree students.

The proposal must include:

1. A request to be considered for the Erna B. Rosenfeld Scholarship
2. Amount of funds requested and for which semester(s) - [Summer 2023 and/or Fall 2023 and/or Spring 2024]. (Continuing MA students requesting program support for a subsequent year need not include a budget unless they are also requesting research-related expenses.)
3. Explanation of research/study of antisemitism project (2-3 paragraphs) and indication of its role in degree progress, such as dissertation research, participation in scholarly conferences or workshops on antisemitism, language acquisition, etc. (1 paragraph)
4. If applicable, a budget that may include airfare, transportation to airport, lodging, photocopies at archives - with total costs noted; and one letter of reference from a Jewish Studies faculty member that speaks to the student’s project.

All IUB undergraduate students are eligible

Undergraduates who are not JS students may apply by:

1. Requesting that either Professor Gunther Jikeli or Professor Alvin Rosenfeld write a letter of recommendation

3. A statement: “I am committed to enrolling in at least one antisemitism-related course or (a minimum of 2 credit) directed readings course on antisemitism during the 2023-2024.” Include signature here.
