April 25, 2021, Noon, Eastern Time (US and Canada)
When considering contemporary antisemitism in its collective dimension, "hostile environment" has become an indispensable concept. Professor Julius explores this concept, and examines some of its practical, real-world applications.
Anthony Julius is a lawyer and academic. He is Deputy Chairman of the London law firm Mishcon de Reya and Professor of Law and the Arts in the Faculty of Law, University College London. He is also the author of numerous books, including Trials of the Diaspora: A History of Anti-Semitism in England (2010) and T.S. Eliot: Anti-Semitism and Literary Forms (1996). Julius represented Deborah Lipstadt successfully in a widely covered libel trial brought against her by the Holocaust denier David Irving.
